Volunteer
Individual:
Since our work at Amber Waves is seasonal, our various programs have volunteer needs depending on the time of year, providing a vast array of engagement opportunities for interested volunteers. Our volunteers play a critical role in helping us start and sustaining the beautification and accessibility of the farm. Local volunteers can participate in the engagement of community efforts and onsite.
Group & Corporate:
Large projects such as building, planting, mulching, and harvesting garden beds are ideal for high volunteer engagement. Working with volunteers also helps us strengthen our ties with the community; we often engage volunteers from local universities, businesses, and congregational groups.
Our programs also have many administrative needs, especially in administering events and communications. We invite interns, fellows, and sustaining volunteers to work with us on an administrative level to gain a stronger understanding of nonprofit management.
Volunteers currently assist operations with events, development activities (Salesforce), and clerical needs. Volunteers also help the program with garden labor, events, community outreach, and general administration. Farm Direct volunteers help with packing produce bags, community outreach, and general administration.
