Amber Waves Farm was founded in 2009 with the mission to produce organic, healthy food for the local community, to reintroduce wheat to the Eastern Long Island food shed, and to provide educational opportunities in agriculture and food at our farm.
Amber Waves is a diversified farm, growing a vast array of vegetables, cut flowers, and wheat. We lease and own a cumulative 25 acres with 20 acres in cultivation. We have a flock of about 40 laying hens, a small flock of ducks, two bee hives, and three farm cats.
Our practices are based in regenerative and organic agriculture. We believe that stewarding the land and soil is the future for a healthy environment and healthy community.
Every season, our crew is made up of a group of dedicated budding farmers: our apprentices, both new and returning, and farm hands.
