By the end of July, our flowers at Amber Waves Farm are blooming and beautiful so we're bringing in Liza Lubell of Peartree Flowers to share her tips and tricks on making arrangements using farm fresh flowers (check out her stunning work here)! This workshop will start with a tour of Amber Waves's Amagansett field and a discussion of what flowers we have growing and Liza will share best practices for harvesting and preserving cut flowers. Workshop attendees will then gather around tables in our field for a flower arranging discussion and demonstration from Liza before having the opportunity to make their own beautiful arrangement to take home. Topics including flower design aesthetics, seasonality and using herbs and vegetable plants in arrangements will be discussed and there will be plenty of time for questions! Farm snacks and wine and beer will be included in this workshop.
ABOUT LIZA LUBELL OF PEARTREE FLOWERS
Liza Lubell’s business was named for her mother, whose maiden name translates to pear tree.
Though she has served clients in New York City and Sag Harbor for nearly five years (and helmed her own business for ten), she often finds herself happily uprooted – traveling the world from coast to beach, beach to coast. Her journeys have helped her hone a layered aesthetic that’s soft and understated, whimsical and romantic.
Since its launch in 2011, Peartree has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, which named Liza as one of the top florists in the country in 2015, as well as Dwell, and The Knot, and blogs like Design*Sponge, Vogue, and Style Me Pretty. Peartree’s services include weddings + occasions, residences, and workshops.
In addition to creating floral arrangements, Liza loves fireworks, making popcorn, and swimming in the ocean.
